Parade Announcements For November 23

893 Announcements

I hope everyone enjoyed the presentations from our guest speakers this week. Special thanks to Mr. Klein-Beekman who represented the BC Ambulance Service and Fire Chief Peter Cornell who presented on behalf of the Qualicum Beach Fire Department. Congratulations to the cadets that earned Marksmanship qualification badges this week – be sure to check your Parent Handbook for badge placement on your tunic.

Several scholarships are administered by the Air Cadet League and are available for eligible cadets entering post-secondary in the Fall. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2022. You can find more information about them and eligibility on the ACL’s website at: https://aircadetleague.com/for-cadets-squadrons/awards/scholarships/

These are the events for next week:

Fundraiser – The Parent Sponsoring Committee has launched a fundraiser selling 1 pound bags of coffee (beans or ground). Order forms and instructions went home with cadets at the end of the evening. Please review the forms and place your order online or by using the form. Please feel free to share the post on your social media, workplace or with friends and family to increase our sales! All orders need to be in by November 30th.

Effective Speaking continues on November 29 from 1830-2030 hours at the hangar. The topic for your speech is “An adventure you have taken or wish to complete – fact or fiction.” Appropriate civilian attire is required and all cadets are welcome to attend!

November 30Physical Training – All cadets will wear appropriate civilian clothing for PT and indoor running shoes (no uniforms or boots). Remember to bring water! The canteen will be open so you can bring money if you wish to purchase a snack during the break.
